Hello Everyone, Well,
we made it back to Canada in record time. We left on March 17th and returned
home on March 19th. Needless to say we spent long days on the
road. As much as we did not want to stay in hotels we had no choice. We did not
go to any restaurants and by the time we reached Minneapolis we noticed things
were changing rapidly and most restaurants had closed. Some had take- out but
life was shutting down. Many hotels were
closed and those that were open were no longer serving breakfast. The hotel in Minneapolis which I believe was a
Best Western Plus was very prepared for keeping people safe. There were wipes
available and hand sanitizer. We had our own but it was good to know they took safety
and health seriously. Their cleaning staff I noticed wore gowns and gloves.
They provided coffee in the morning and a to- go bag with water and fruit , a breakfast bar and a muffin . We were very diligent in wiping down everything in the room as
soon as we entered, but I am just glad that trip is over.
The border crossing went well with no issues at all. We were
given our directions on our 14 day self isolation and headed directly home. Our
wonderful neighbours and friends Joel and Lidia stocked our home with groceries
before we arrived home so we were set to begin our isolation.
I am thankful we left Florida when we did as things escalated
quickly after we left, both here in Canada and in the USA. All I
can say is it is good to be home on Canadian soil. We do
not mind doing our self isolation as it is the responsible thing to do to keep
others safe and healthy. Everyone has to do their part to help fight this Covid
-19.
We have made no plans for next year so we will see what happens
in this crazy upside down world we are living in.
Take care everyone and stay healthy.
